Tamil Nadu might receive its first drop of rains this summer on Monday, thereby giving some relief from the heat. The Regional Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain over coastal Tamil Nadu. In its latest statement, the weather monitoring agency said, “Light to Moderate rain is likely to occur at one or two places over Coastal Tamil Nadu, adjoining districts, Puducherry and Karaikal area.” However, the dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest of the state.   The RMD has issued a “thunderstorm and lightning warning over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karikal on April 9. “Thunderstorm & lightning is likely to occur at one or two places over Tamilnadu,Puducherry and Karaikal area,” the statement noted. There is no significant change in the maximum temperature over these three regions in the next two days. However, a gradual decrease of 2-3°C is likely in the said days, the weather-monitoring agency stated.
